What this study evaluates: Whether independent evaluators unfamiliar with LUXVAR can classify LUXVAR words into semantic axes above predefined baselines and above matched control-word performance.
What this study does NOT test: Physical-field claims, consciousness-field interaction, non-human origin, Torus-PSI, or frequency effects.

Study Design

Target evaluatorsN = 40 (minimum 30)
EligibilityAdult; no prior LUXVAR exposure; independent of VARZIN development
LUXVAR stimuli80 canonical words (Core + Numeric sets)
Control stimuli80 length-matched artificial controls
Semantic axesLight · Reflection · Silence · Gate · Motion
Majority-class baseline27.5% (Reflection, 22/80 items)
Accuracy floor≥ 30% (pre-registered)
Calibration phase5 evaluators, 20 items, Fleiss' Kappa ≥ 0.15

Statistical Pipeline

Primary metricFleiss' Kappa (inter-rater agreement)
Primary testPermutation test vs majority-class baseline
Secondary testChi-square
CorrectionFalse Discovery Rate — Benjamini-Hochberg
Sensitivity analysisExclude participants flagging ≥ 10 familiar items
Alternative explanationsAE-1 Sound symbolism · AE-2 Phonaesthetic bias · AE-3 Orthographic bias
Subgroup analysisCore Set (n=30) vs Numeric Set (n=50) — v1.4 Addendum

Success Criteria — All 6 Must Be Satisfied Simultaneously

C1
LUXVAR accuracy > majority-class baseline
C2
LUXVAR accuracy > control-word accuracy
C3
FDR-corrected p < 0.05
C4
Fleiss' Kappa ≥ 0.20
C5
Sensitivity analysis directionally consistent
C6
LUXVAR accuracy ≥ 30%
Failure Rule: If any single criterion is not met, H1 is rejected. No post-hoc reinterpretation is permitted. Negative results will be recorded as Dissonance in the Evidence Registry.

Execution Roadmap

1
OSF Pre-Registration
Upload protocol PDF + materials package. Record timestamp. No data collection before timestamp.
2
Calibration Phase
5 independent evaluators · 20 items · Fleiss' Kappa ≥ 0.15 · Axis concentration check
3
Main Recruitment
Target N = 40 · Minimum N = 30 · Full blinded protocol
4
Data Analysis
All 6 criteria · Sensitivity analysis · Alternative explanation tests · Report result regardless of direction
5
Replication
Level 1: independent evaluator group · Level 2: independent research team · Level 3: public reproduction

Transparency Requirements

All materials publicly available before data collection: raw data · analysis code · word lists · control lists · statistical outputs · calibration results · power analysis report.
